Definition: Anemia refers to any deficiency in the blood, either in qulaity or quantity. Though there are many different forms of anemia,but the term ususally refers to a dexrease in the number of red blood cells or a reduction in hemoglobin. It is not a disease, but is s symptom of a disease. Can be caused by bleeding, poor diet, reaction to certain drugs or diseases of bone marrow. Treatment depends on the cause of the anemia.
