Welcome to Senior Health Chat. We will have one scheduled chat each week, but drop in anytime. You never know who you might run into. Please be sure to read our chat rules and guidelines.

I will be online Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Central and am looking forward to chating with you. Your input is warmly welcomed as we work to make Senior Health Chat a worthwhile, informative and entertaining feature.

Feel free to stop by and discuss any Senior Health topics, ask questions, make observations, listen in, or just say hi.

Is there another time that would be better for chat? Send your suggestions to me at seniorhealth.guide@about.com.

Customising the Chat Screen

Type '*chat' in the text box (where you type to send messages) to get help on how to change fonts and colors for your window. [Note: You must include the asterisk (*).]

> For example:
*chat bgcolor black (changes background color of the chat window to black)
*chat fgcolor green (changes foreground (text) color of the chat window to green)
*chat font courier (changes font of the chat window to Courier)
*chat fontsize 14 (changes font size of the chat window to 14)
*chat (gives help on the entire list of commands available)

Chat Tips and Pointers

Once you have logged on, chose the float button to have full view of the chat window. The float button is located at the top of the chat window. There is also another button called, Surf. When ever someone types in a full Internet address, you can press the surf button. The Internet address will appear in a separate window, without affecting your chat window. You can check out the site while the chat continues or you can bookmark the site for later viewing. Never be afraid to ask a question in the senior health chat room! We are firm believers that the only dumb question, is the one you were afraid to ask!

Chat Lingo!

Want some help with the chat room lingo? Here's a few to get you started, but fear not... we all were new to the chat room at one time! New chatters are always welcome!
