Top Ten Reasons for Not Exercising

  1. I don't have time; I have a lot of doctor visits.
  1. The weather doesn't suit me.
  1. If I were fit and trim I might have even more lonely widows chasing after me.
  1. I've heard exercise can affect your sex drive.
  1. Grandmothers bake cookies, they don't run marathons.
  1. Spandex doesn't do anything for wrinkles.
  1. Exercise might improve my health and longevity. I've already outlived everyone I know.
  1. I could hurt myself.
  1. If I were healthy I would have no excuse to go see my Doctor who looks like Robert Redford.
  1. I don't know how to get started!!!
I hope you have enjoyed my bit of fun with a serious subject. The hardest part of a fitness program is getting started. In a future article I will discuss some strategies for getting over the beginners hump and making a fitness routine a part of your life. You will meet my friend Carol who, after her second grandchild arrived, decided enough was enough. She started a fitness program and has now successfully finished 2 Triathlons.

If she can do it, so can you. No more excuses, for the good of your health get up and move.
