Brand Name - PLETAL®

Generic Name - cilostazol

FDA Drug Classification - May improve the symptoms of patients with intermittent claudication, allowing them to walk longer before leg pain occurs.

Action - Dilates arteries supplying blood to the legs and decrease the ability of platelets in the blood to stick together.

Adverse Effects -

  • headache
  • palpitation
  • tachycardia
  • diarrhea

Precautions - Should not be used by:

  • People with a history of congestive heart failure.
  • People with a history of stroke.

Interactions - As this is a new drug there are no clear guidelines for interactions.
