Question - Does cataract surgery cause scaring?:

Five weeks ago I had cataract surgery. Why is there a scar?

Guide Responds:

Cataract surgery consists of an incision to remove the cloudy lens and insertion of the artificial lens. As with any surgery the incision needs to heal and there can be some scaring in the eye. Scars generally fad with time and as it has been 5 weeks since your surgery you may still be in the healing process. The best person to talk with is the physician who performed the surgery if you have questions.

You'll also find it helpful to talk with others who may have similar experiences or problems. The best places to do that are our Forums and Chatroom.
