Question - How can I find low cost drug programs for my grandfather?:
I have recently started caring for my elderly grandfather who lives on a very limited income. He has been prescribed Zocor for cholesterol problems but this medication is so expensive it is becoming a choice for a place to live or his medication. One of his nurses mentioned that we can try contacting certain drug companies who are willing to sell some drugs to the elderly for a reduced price. I know there will probably be a lot of forms to fill out but we haven't even been able to get to that point. Can you please give us any information on how to contact the appropriate people to check on these programs.
Guide Responds:
There are programs sponsored by the drug companies that can supply low cost or free drugs to seniors. Seniors will qualify on need and on availability of the drugs.Another option is to go to Canada or Mexico to have prescriptions filled. These links below will provide information on the drug programs and pharmacies in other countries.
