Question - My question is about Elder abuse.:

Let's say "hypothetically" that a family member is the designated caregiver for another elderly family member. There are many indications of possible elder abuse. The actual abuse has not been witnessed first hand. What can be done (if anything) to further investigate the situation, and what rights do non-caregiver family members have in situations such as these? Thank you.

Guide Responds:The city or county your family member lives in should have an elder abuse hotline or agency that will investigate and take action if needed. If a problem is found using non caregiver family would be contacted to step in or the elder may come under protection of the social services agency.

You'll also find it helpful to talk with others who may have similar experiences or problems. The best places to do that are our Forums and Chatroom.
