Guide Review - Book
We have all heard the line "you are what you eat", but as Lisa Sanders, M.D. shows us in her book "The Perfect Fit Diet, we also "eat what we are". Dr. Sanders has based the premise of her book on the fact that we are all different and that there is no one diet that fits everyone. Because certain diets do not fit all some people are destined to fail while others lose weight and keep it off; they have found the perfect fit for their lifestyle and personality.

According to Dr. Sanders, in order to find the diet that fits, you must first learn who you are and keeping an eating and exercise diary. You will keep this diary for a week, writing down everything you eat and drink. It is very important to be accurate and truthful. Even if you ate something that made you feel guilty, write it down.

The next step is the questionnaire that uses the information from the diary and helps you determine the type of diet that is right for you.

Dr. Sanders then goes on to describe the three types of diets: counting carbohydrates, counting fat or counting calories. Based on our lifestyle, food preferences, and cultural habits one of these types of diets could work to help lose weight and improve health.

Once you have finished the questionnaire, the score will help you to understand why certain diet and food choices will or will not work for you.
