Marriage Key to Longer Life
Thursday August 10, 2006
A study being reported in the Journal of Epidemiology and Health finds that people who never marry are more likely to die prematurely than their counterparts who marry. Divorce and death of a spouse did not have an impact on death rates for participants. Researchers said that it seems that loneliness was the factor in the earlier deaths. They also found that smoking and drinking rates were not a factor and that single people exercised more and have lower rates of obesity.
