Many Seniors Report Sleep Problems
Wednesday August 2, 2006
A study published in July's American Journal of Medicine finds that more than half of the seniors in the study reported sleep problems and also felt that such sleep difficulties were a normal part of the aging process. The lead author of the study released a statement that said that while sleep patterns change with age that insomnia is not a normal part of the aging process and that there are several things seniors can do to improve the amount and quality of their sleep.
In the study it was suggested that seniors keep a sleep diary, documenting bedtimes, wake-up times, meals, exercise etc. that can affect sleep.
