Lonely Seniors High Risk of Hypertension

Loneliness has often been just assumed to be a consequence of getting older. Death of a spouse, illness, disability, divorce and mobility of family can lead to seniors being alone and lonely. A new study now shows that loneliness can have a direct effect on health.
Researchers have found that older people who are lonely also have higher blood pressure, and the effect seems to be greater as age increases. This study shows the effects of environmental issues on our health and happiness.
