Red wine may be good for more than your heart according to new research. Scientists from Université Laval (Québec, Canada), reported at the Annual Meeting of the American Association for Dental Research that drinking red wine may also help to prevent and treat gum disease.
Gum Disease is caused by inflammation of the gums and bone that surround the teeth weakening these structures that support the teeth. Polyphenols in red wine lessen the free radicals that result from the infection caused by bacteria. Reducing free radicals reduces the damage to gums and bone.
