Waking Up Groggy

If you find it take you some time to wake up fully from sleep this information will be of interest. Seniors who do not wake fully or still feel groggy after sleep may want to take note of this information.

Seniors who are not fully awake and alert may be more at risk of falls with injuries. Add that grogginess to poor eyesight and balance problems and it could be a recipe for disaster.

Seniors who are groggy for a while after awakening may want to remain in bed till fully awake. Be sure to have adequate light and have your glasses in easy reach. Keep your bedroom area uncluttered to prevent accidents. You may also want to avoid sleeping pills that can increase that morning grogginess.
