"Scotty" Diagnosed with Alzheimer's

Actor James Doohan, best known for his role as Engineer Scott on the 1960's science fiction show Star Trek has been diagnosed with the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. His agent Steve Steven announced his condition this week saying "He can talk about his Army days and his old acting days and give you dates and details of whatever, but it's hard for him to remember yesterday." Doohan is a native of Canada and fought for the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII and was wounded as an infantryman during the D-Day invasion of Normandy. He is 84.
