Blood Clot Risk Not Treated Preventively, Study Finds. This report from Duke University finds that those patiens most at risk for developing blood clots were not being monitored or treated preventivly. Blood clots that develop in the legs due to immobility can break off and travel to the lungs, the brain or the heart causing disability or death.
